From the moment I stepped into the newly-renovated hotel, it felt like home. I stayed at Eden Hotel on a recent trip to Amsterdam, and it was a fabulous three nights!
A spacious open lobby, welcoming staff members, and immaculate spaces everywhere you look…what more could you want?
The Eden Hotel was made for business travelers, families, and tourists alike. Somehow, it caters to everyone.
For professionals, there are sleek working spaces and a quiet, relaxing bar area. For families, the hotel offers a safe and peaceful respite from the traffic that is Amsterdam. And for tourists, you really can’t get any more centrally-located than Eden Hotel.
It is the perfect place to stay for your time in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Top Centrally-Located Amsterdam Hotel Near Rembrandtplein Square
The number one thing that blew me away about Eden Hotel was its location. For one, it sits overlooking the Amstel River in central Amsterdam.
In addition, it is easily the most fantastic hotel near Rembrandtplein.
From the rear entrance of the hotel, you can see the lively pubs and restaurants. With less than a two-minute walk, you are in the heart of the square.
This makes Eden Hotel the perfect place to stay if you’re looking to catch a nightcap at The Old Bell or enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Plus, with such easy access to Rembrandtplein Square, you’re able to walk to pretty much all of the major attractions in Amsterdam Central such as the Rijksmuseum, Bloemenmarkt, Negen Straatjes, and Anne Frank House.

Clean, Spacious, Air-Conditioned Rooms & Comfortable Beds
The beautifully-designed rooms at Amsterdam Eden Hotel are much more comfortable and spacious than most European hotels I’ve stayed in.
I appreciated the subtle design details like above-bed lighting in different colors and a mirror with vanity lights. And the modern design of some of the rooms is absolutely fabulous! The recent renovations have really ramped up the design factor.
There was plenty of room to walk around the queen-sized bed and store a suitcase.
The bed was so comfortable– even more than I was expecting! I slept like a baby each night, and I was even impressed by the pillows.
🛑 Con: the queen-sized beds are actually two singles pushed together. This isn’t an issue for me, but it’s definitely worth mentioning.
A large closet and sitting area left me room to put away clothes and other travel items easily. My favorite part, though, was the vanity.
I felt like a movie star getting ready at the vanity. I loved the plush seat and lighting around the mirror. It was a nice way to relax in the morning while I got ready.
More exciting than all of that, though, was the fact that the hotel rooms have air conditioning (that works!). This can be a rarity in Europe, particularly in the larger cities, so I was glad to find this air to be up to par!
An en-suite bathroom was also in my room and had a full bathtub in addition to my shower, toilet, and counter space. No high-pressure shower head is a deal breaker for me. I have to say that the Eden did not disapoint! It had great pressure and the water was really very hot.
🛑 Con: There was no minibar fridge in the room which meant I couldn’t have cold water. It’s not a big deal, but it’s worth mentioning. You also need to ask for an iron at reception if you need one.

Cleanliness
I did not have one complaint regarding cleanliness at this hotel.
I didn’t see any hair left behind in my room. There were no dirty linens.
And, even with light-colored tile flooring on almost the entire first floor of the hotel, it never once looked like it needed to be cleaned.
🛑 Con: The hotel doesn’t encourage daily cleaning, so if you would like this, you’ll need to request it. Instead the cleaning service is offered every 3 days.
Check-In
Eden Hotel Amsterdam really is ahead of its time.
If you’ve got a busy schedule, the hotel lobby offers self check-in and check-out at kiosks and tablets.
While there is someone at the front desk to help at all times, it definitely cut down on our check-out time when there were many people waiting!
You could even scan your identity verification at the tablet- amazing.
Hotel Entertainment & Restaurants
The Eden Hotel Amsterdam has multiple restaurants and entertainment locations all situated within the hotel building.
There is even a Michelin-starred restaurant!
Along with this impressive eatery, you can find a small corner shop, a second restaurant, and an underground bar to enjoy.
Bar Service
If you’re looking for a peaceful place to wind down with a nightcap, you’re in luck!
We had drinks at the bar each night we stayed at Eden, and they were all lovely.
From the few beers on tap to mixed drinks and local wine options, you really couldn’t go wrong.
In the evening, the dining area serves as a lush, comfortable seating place to congregate and enjoy drinks with others on the first floor.

All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast Buffet
One of my favorite parts about Amsterdam’s Eden Hotel was the large breakfast buffet.
Depending on how you book (or whether you pay extra), you have access to their dining area and an all-you-can-eat spread.
They truly have everything here! A fresh station has omelets, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, and other hot items.
In another area entirely, there are yogurts, fresh fruit, granola, cereals, cold juices, deli meats and cheeses, pastries, and croissants.
Everything I tried was delicious, especially the fresh coffee! This was a great way to fuel my busy days in Amsterdam.
🛑 Con: If you book the room without breakfast, it’s a little pricey at 25€. Another option would be to eat at any of the restaurants or coffee shops in the area, especially if you don’t eat much for breakfast.

Easily Accessible Public Transportation
When you stay at this hotel, using public transportation is a breeze.
Multiple tram lines (4 and 14) have stops right at Rembrandtplein Square, which is maybe a two-minute walk from the hotel.
You can easily get to other popular areas in Amsterdam like Leidseplein, Museumplein, Jordaan, or even Centraal Station.
You can also hop on a canal cruise nearby or rent a bike and try your hand that way!!
If you’re still looking for accommodation in Amsterdam, these are the best hotels with a free airport shuttle!
Extremely Safe and Popular Location
I’ve stayed in many parts of Amsterdam, and the Eden Hotel is among the safest I have felt.
The hotel is off a quiet street near Rembrandtplein, and the staff is on call 24 hours a day.
I walked around the nearby streets at night and never felt unsafe in any way.

Close to Amenities
Whenever I travel, I aim to be as close as possible to a local grocery store.
This helps me save money and means I have easy access to water bottles, snacks, and especially culturally unique treats.
One of my favorite things to do is to walk into the grocery store and pick snacks to try at random! When you can’t read the packaging, this can be exciting!
Eden Hotel is a five-minute walk from the closest Albert Heijn, a large grocery store with food, drinks, produce, and toiletries.

Top-Notch Customer Service
The biggest thing that impressed me, beyond the amazing facilities and location, was the customer service at Eden Hotel.
Every single person I came into contact with was friendly and helpful.
I experienced this firsthand when I happened to leave a small necklace behind in my room. The necklace had incredible sentimental value to me.
I called the front desk as soon as I realized my necklace had been lost (a few hours later). By the end of the day, the hotel had located my necklace and offered to mail it back to me.
I was so thankful for the wonderful staff there for being so willing to help.
Eden Hotel Amsterdam Review: A Brilliant Place to Stay
My stay at Amsterdam’s Eden Hotel was easily one of my favorite getaways in Amsterdam.
It was comfortable and safe, and there were plenty of things to do in the neighborhood nearby.
If you’re looking for a top-notch hotel within easy walking distance to most of the local tourist attractions, this is it!
Regardless, enjoy your time in Amsterdam! It’s my favorite!
